Op add your scan to email machine IPs to an alias called "MFP" or "ScantoEmail" or something. Make a rule that allowed 587 and 25 from that alias to any external, and enable logs. Move this up the rule list. Go to the traffic monitor and filter by the name of your alias. Verify that outbound smtp traffic is allowed.
